2010 Australian Open Day 6

Day 6 went almost as scripted, with the seeded players winning easily for both men and women with only a couple of exceptions.

For the men, Roger Federer (1), Novak Djokovic (3), and Nikolay Davydenko (6) all won in straight sets. Fernando Verdasco (9) won the 1st set, then his opponent retired.

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (10) had the only difficulty, taken to 4 sets by Tommy Haas (18).

The women’s matches were much the same.  Serena Williams (1), Caroline Wosniacki (4), Venus Williams (6), Victoria Azarenka (7), and Vera Zvonareva (9) all won in straight sets.

No. 17 Francesca Schiavone upset no. 10 Agnieszka Radwanska in straight sets.
