7 RoughRiders Named All-Stars

MIDLAND, TEXAS – The Texas League announced the Mid-Season All-Stars rosters for the 2013 Texas League All-Star game, and the Frisco RoughRiders are proud to announce that seven members of the Frisco roster were selected to team, including two starters in second baseman Odubel Herrera and first baseman Brett Nicholas, who will be the serving as the starting designated hitter for the South Division. Utility infielder Guilder Rodriguez and catcher Tomas Telis and were selected as reserves. Right-handed starting pitchers Carlos Pimentel and Neil Ramirez both made the team as well, and the submarine-throwing right-handed reliever Ben Rowen has also been honored.

The RoughRiders are tied with San Antonio for the most players from the South Division selected to the All-Star game with seven; only Arkansas has more with eight selections. The Texas League All-Star Game presented by Castrol will be played at Arvest Ballpark in Springdale, Arkansas at 7:00 p.m. CDT on June 25, preceded by the Home Run Derby presented by Tyson Foods at 6:00 p.m.

The South Division squad will be coached by the RoughRiders field staff, as the defending South Division Champions, and the North Division All-Stars will be led by the staff of the hosting Northwest Arkansas Naturals.
