Dallas, TX, November 30, 2012 – The Salesmanship Club of Dallas, the PGA TOUR and AT&T announced today that AT&T has agreed to become the new title sponsor of the Byron Nelson Championship in 2015.

“This is an exciting day in the history of the Byron Nelson Championship and our charity, Salesmanship Club Youth and Family Centers,” said Charley Spradley, president of the Salesmanship Club. “With AT&T assuming the title sponsorship of our major fundraising event starting in 2015, we are taking steps to secure the future of the Byron Nelson Championship that funds our innovative services for at risk and troubled children.

“Since AT&T moved their global headquarters to Dallas, they have proven to be exemplary corporate citizens in our community through their support of the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic and the AT&T Performing Arts Center,” Spradley said. “This announcement is further proof of the commitment they have made to our community.”

“AT&T is excited to be the sponsor of the 2015 and 2016 Byron Nelson Championship,” said Ron Spears, AT&T senior

executive vice president. “We hope the tournament will be the AT&T Byron Nelson Championship for many years into the future.”

AT&T will assume the title sponsorship when the current contract with HP expires after the 2014 tournament. HP has been the title sponsor since 2003.

“We greatly appreciate our decade-long partnership with HP,” Spradley said. “Their dedication to staging a world-class event and their passion for the work we do to transform the futures of kids and families in our community are tremendous assets for our tournament.”

AT&T will become only the third title sponsor in the Byron Nelson Championship’s history. GTE became the first title sponsor in 1988. When GTE was acquired by Verizon in 2001, the tournament’s name was subsequently changed. Similarly, EDS became the title sponsor in 2003, and the tournament’s name changed again when HP acquired EDS prior to the 2009 tournament.

The 2013 HP Byron Nelson Championship will be played May 13-19 at the TPC Four Seasons Resort Las Colinas in Irving, the home of the Byron Nelson since 1983. The Nelson continues to produce major funding for the Salesmanship Club’s educational and therapeutic services with more than 7,000 at risk children and family members each year. Since its founding in 1920, Salesmanship Club Youth and Family Centers has pioneered effective, innovative approaches to transform the futures of children. In addition to these powerful direct services, hundreds of educators and mental health professionals are trained each year to use these new tools to enhance their work with children in need.
