Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Josh Brent was released from prison Sunday, according to ESPNDallas.com.

Brent had been held for 11 days for violating terms of his pre-trial release because he allegedly tested positive for marijuana twice.

A Dallas County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman told ESPNDallas.com that Brent was released due to a court order, although there was no explanation why the court order was issued.

Brent, 25, still faces a charge of intoxication manslaughter in connection with the Dec. 8 accident that killed his best friend Jerry Brown Jr., a Cowboys practice-squad linebacker.

Brent had been out on bond, but he was sent back to jail on June 27.

Although Brent remains on the Cowboys’ roster, he did not take part in offseason workouts and is unlikely to participate in the Cowboys training camp this month, according to the report.

Last season, Brent played in 12 games, including five starts.
