The HP Byron Nelson Championship is underway at the Las Colinas Four Seasons Resort and Spa in Irving.  After a night of storms and rain, the field will play the opening round with preferred lines in closely mown areas.

Nine of the top 30 in the FedExCup standings, including Matt Kuchar (No. 5), D.A. Points (No. 7), Charles Howell III (No. 12), Dustin Johnson (No. 13), Jimmy Walker (No. 15), Jason Day (No. 16), Brian Gay (No. 19), Keegan Bradley (No. 20) and Boo Weekley (No. 27) are in the field.

Sponsor exemption recipient and PGA TOUR Special Temporary Member Jordan Spieth will make his third start at the HP Byron Nelson Championship (T16/2010, T32/2011). Spieth owns three top-10 finishes in nine starts on TOUR this season (T2-Puerto Rico Open, T7-Tampa Bay Championship, T9-RBC Heritage).

Also in the field is 14-year-old Guan Tianlang, who caught the attention of the golfing world at the Masters last month, which he qualified for by winning the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship. The youngest player to ever compete at Augusta, the teen posted rounds of 73-75-77-75 to finish 58th. As the only amateur to make the cut, Lang took home Augusta National’s Silver Cup for low amateur honors. The fourth-youngest player to ever make a start in a PGA TOUR event came back two weeks later with a 71st place finish at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
