Cowboys Win In Carolina

The Dallas Cowboys evened their record at 3-3 with a road win against the Carolina Panthers.  It wasn’t easy for the ‘Boys, who had to rely on the foot of kicker Dan Bailey and a defensive hold to seal the 19-14 win.

The Cowboys trailed 14-13 with 3 1/2 minutes remaining when Bailey kicked a 28 yard field goal to give Dallas a 2-point lead.

The Dallas defense held the Panthers on a 4th and 1 and gave the offense another chance to put the game out of reach.  The Cowboys played conservatively, keeping the ball on the ground with rushes by Felix Jones and Philip Tanner.  A 38 yard field goal by Bailey gave the Cowboys some breathing room, but it took a DeMarcus Ware grab of a desperation lateral to end the game.

Bailey ended the game 4 for 4 with field goals of 19, 49, 28, and 38 yards.

Quarterback Tony Romo completed 24 of 34 passes for 227 yards and 1 touchdown.  For the first game all season, Romo did not have an interception.

Tight end Jason Witten caught 6 passes for 44 yards.  Wide receiver Miles Austin caught 5 for 97 yards.

Running back Felix Jones rushed for 44 yards on 15 carries.  Philip Tanner ran 13 times for 30 yards.

Dallas returns home to face the New York Giants on Sunday.
