Dallas Knocks Out Vick, Eagles

The Dallas Cowboys defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 38-23 on Sunday at Lincoln Field.  With the win, the Cowboys pull to within 1 1/2 games of the New York Giants for the NFC East lead thanks to the Giants loss at the hands of the Cincinnati Bengals.

Philadelphia quarterback Michael Vick left the game in the 2nd quarter with a concussion.  The Eagles had to rely on rookie Nick Foles to fill in for Vick.

Dallas quarterback Tony Romo completed 19 of 26 passes for 209 yards and 2 touchdowns with no interceptions.   Jason Witten caught 8 passes for 47 yards.  Dez Bryant led the Cowboys receivers in yards with 87 on 3 catches with 1 touchdown.

Running back Felix Jones gained 71 yards on 16 carries.  Jones also scored on a touchdown reception.  Lance Dunbar rushed 6 times for 20 yards.

Dwayne Harris returned a punt 78 yards for a touchdown early in the 4th quarter.  The Cowboys followed with another touchdown on an interception return by Brandon Carr.

Dallas sealed the victory when Jason Hatcher recovered a fumble in the end zone for the final touchdown.

The turnovers were crucial, as Philadelphia out-gained the Cowboys 369 yards to 294 on the strength of 23 first downs.  The Cowboys gave up 6 first downs on penalties.  Dallas was penalized a total of 13 times for 75 yards.

The Cowboys return home to host Cleveland on Sunday.
