Defending Champs Still Winless

The Dallas Mavericks fell to 0-2 Monday night at the American Airlines Center with a 115-93 loss to the Denver Nuggets.  It is the Nuggets sixth victory in the last eight times the teams have met in the regular season.

Dirk Nowitzki scored 20 points for the Mavericks and Lamar Odom grabbed 7 rebounds.

Dallas fell behind by over 30 points for the 2nd straight game.  The Mavs had no answer for the Denver offense, allowing a 20-point run in the 2nd period.  “We’ve got to rebuild trust defensively. We’ve lost some. We’ve lost a lot. I’ve got to do a better job coaching these guys, simple as that.”, said Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle.

The Mavericks go on the road to Oklahoma City on Thursday night.
