Dempter Gets 1st Win As Ranger

The Texas Rangers defeated the Boston Red Sox 6-3 Tuesday night at Fenway Park.

Ryan Dempster took the mound for Texas and won his first game in a Rangers uniform.  Dempster struck out 6 in 6 2/3 innings, giving up 3 runs.

Joe Nathan earned the save for the Rangers, his 22nd of the season.

The Rangers generated 10 hits in the game, with Ian Kinsler, Josh Hamilton, and Nelson Cruz each getting 2.  David Murphy continued his hot streak, going 1-for-2 with an RBI.

Texas will close out the series in Boston today at 12:35 with Matt Harrison pitching against Josh Beckett.

The Rangers are 64-45, and hold a 5 1/2 game lead over Oakland in the AL West.
