Dirk Nowitzki Pro Celebrity Tennis Classic to return to SMU

Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki will call on his celebrity buddies for the Dirk Nowitzki Pro Celebrity Tennis Classic on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the SMU Tennis Center.

Returning is 2003 US Open champion and recent International Tennis Hall of Fame inductee Andy Roddick, who is considered one of the most influential, successful and quotable tennis players of all time. Roddick is the last American man to finish No. 1 in the ATP World Tour Rankings in 2003 and overall in the Top 10 for nine straight years (2002-2010).

Celebrities who participated in last year’s inaugural event included actor Ben Stiller, ATP player John Isner, and Dallas Mavericks small forward Harrison Barnes.

This year’s list of celebrities will be announced in the coming weeks.

Proceeds benefit the Dirk Nowitzki Foundation, which awards grants annually to organizations focusing on children’s wellbeing, health and education.

RAIN OR SHINE! Spectator tickets to the tournament are $100 for 15 and older; $41 for children 4-14, and free for children 3 and under.
