FRISCO, TX – FC Dallas Reserves (1-5-0, 3 points) defeated Antigua Barracuda FC, 3-1, in a match between the home-standing MLS Reserve League side and USL PRO Tuesday night at FC Dallas Stadium.

FC Dallas Reserves’ Ramon Nunez scored the only two goals of the first half and assisted on the third goal in the second half. His initial goal came in just the fourth minute of the match, when the Honduran midfielder’s 25-yard shot escaped the grasp of Antigua goalkeeper Corey Whisenhunt on what could have been a routine save.

Nunez’s second goal, assisted by Fabian Castillo, was scored in the 25th minute. The play began with 17-year-old defender Kellyn Acosta weaving his way through Barracuda FC defenders before slotting a ball to Castillo, who was inside the area. With his back to goal, Castillo knocked a shot pass back outside the box for Nunez, who finished high to the left side of Whisenhunt to give Dallas a 2-0 lead.

FC Dallas Reserves controlled possession for large parts of the first half but Antigua Barracuda FC’s Orlando Mitchum and Tamorley Thomas each tested FC Dallas goalkeeper Chris Seitz, who finished the match with six saves.

The second half opened with continuous possession by FC Dallas Reserves, who took a 3-0 lead in the 60th minute on a goal scored by Victor Ulloa. The goal came from a set piece opportunity that was lofted to the back post from 35-yards out by Nunez. Central defender Stephen Keel won the ball at the back post, nodding a pass back across the goalmouth for Ulloa, who finished easily.

Antigua Barracuda FC’s Thomas was dangerous throughout the match. The speedy forward broke free of FC Dallas defenders for multiple one-on-one opportunities against Seitz but the 6-3 goalkeeper was equal to the task each time.

Seitz got the better of Thomas on all but one breakaway, the final of which came in the 88th minute. After creating a yard or two of separation between FC Dallas defenders, Thomas feinted left before tapping a slow shot to the opposite post for Antigua’s lone goal of the match.
