FC Dallas got two goals from Roland Lamah on its way to defeating league-leading Toronto FC, 3-1, this evening at Toyota Stadium.

FC Dallas took a 1-0 lead in the fifth minute when center back Maynor Figueroa played a 50-yard pass forward to Maxi Urruti. The FC Dallas forward took the pass in stride, pulled a Toronto FC defender out wide and laid a pass back into the center of the area for Roland Lamah. Lamah beat Toronto FC goalkeeper Alex Bono to the ball, slotting a shot just inside the far post for his fifth goal of the season.

Toronto FC countered in the 15th minute, when Michael Bradley found Sebastian Giovinco with a pass at the top of the area. Giovinco cut around a defender and fired high to Gonzalez’s left side but the acrobatic ‘keeper rose to make a diving save.

Four minutes later, Gonzalez made his second spectacular save of the evening on a corner kick that was floated into the area. Eriq Zavaleta won the header in the area, pounding a shot high towards Gonzalez, but once again, the ‘keeper stretched to redirect the point-blank shot over the bar.

Dallas gained a 2-0 advantage in the 21st minute when Urruti fought to keep the ball at midfield and got the ball to Mauro Diaz. Diaz picked up his head and played a cutting pass through the Toronto FC defense to Lamah, who picked out the opposite side netting to score his sixth of the year.

Toronto FC pulled a goal back in the 56th minute, when Giovinco received a pass on the left flank, walked down the end line and tried to beat Gonzalez to his right side, at the near post. Gonzalez deflected the shot off the post, but Marco Delgado snuck in at the back post to push the ball across the line and make it 2-1.

FC Dallas regained its two-goal advantage in the 78th minute, when Carlos Gruezo played an outlet pass to Michael Barrios on the right flank. The winger held up play long enough for Urruti to make his run. Barrios then slotted a deadly ball through the Toronto defense. Urruti collected the pass, dribbled around Bono and hammered a shot into the back of the net to make it 3-1. The goal was Urruti’s 10th of the season. The assist was Barrios’ eighth, third-most in the league.
