Federer wins 2010 Australian Open

Roger Federer once again staked his claim to the title of “Greatest Ever” by winning his 16th Grand Slam Championship. Federer defeated Andy Murray in straight sets to win his 4th Australian Open title.

Murray got off to a slow start, allowing Federer to easily win the first two sets. By the time he got into the match, it was too late.  The third set went into a tiebreak, with Murray having several set points, only to have Federer ultimately win the set and the Championship.  Murray, from Scotland, felt the pressure of all of Great Britain, which has not won a Grand Slam title in 74 years.

The mixed doubles title was won by the No. 1 team of Cara Black and Leander Paes.
