Good day, bad day for Nadal

For Rafael Nadal, it was the best of times, it was the worst of times at Indian Wells.  Early in the day, he was eliminated from the Men’s Singles event by losing his semi-final match to Ivan Ljubicic.  Nadal ended his day by claiming the 2010 BNP Paribas Open Men’s Doubles championship with partner Marc Lopez.

Nadal has not won a singles title in 10 months, and will drop from number 3 in the world to no. 4 when the rankings are updated next week.

American Andy Roddick did manage to advance to the final, defeating Robin Soderling.

The Women’s Doubles title was won by Kveta Peschke and Katarina Srebotnik over Nadia Petrova and Samantha Stosur.
