Hamilton’s Homer Lifts Rangers

Josh Hamilton blasted a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth to lift the Texas Rangers over the Oakland A’s 7-6 Saturday night at the Ballpark.

Hamilton went 4-for-5 at the plate Saturday night, leading the Rangers to 13 hits.  Adrian Beltre hit a 3-run shot in the 5th as the Rangers rallied from a 5-1 deficit.

Starting pitcher Colby Lewis had a rough start, giving up 4 runs as the A’s batted around in the 2nd inning.  Lewis went 6 innings, giving up 5 total runs while striking out 9.  Tommy Hunter went an inning and a third, giving up a solo home run.  Darren Oliver gets the win, going 1 2/3 scoreless innings.

It is the 6th straight win for the Rangers, who will go for the sweep of the A’s today in Arlington.
