Harrington, Vegas, Wagner Take Pro-Am Title At HPBNC

Team Padraig Harrington, Team Jhonattan Vegas and Team Johnson Wagner all tied for the Gold Pro-Am title at the HP Byron Nelson Championship after posting a combined team score of 18-under at the TPC Four Seasons on Wednesday.

Harrington, making his first career appearance at the HP Byron Nelson, teamed up with Andrew Joiner, J.P. Jolly, Don Wood and Kris Lutt to post the winning score.

Vegas is also making his first appearance at the Nelson and partnered with Ed Dorman, Spence Miller, Ken Carmody and Mark Meyer to tie for the title. Team Vegas posted an eagle on the final hole to get to 18-under.

Wagner is making his fifth appearance at the Nelson and played his round with Scott McShan, Wes Wong, Steve Timms and Larry Sims.

South African Louis Oosthuizen finished first individually, shooting a 7-under 63 on the day. Jimmy Walker came in second with a round of 6-under 64 and seven others tied for third shooting a 5-under 65.

The most notable pro-am pairing included Phil Mickelson, who partnered with Texas Head Football Coach Mack Brown and Longhorn Head Basketball Coach Rick Barnes, UT assistant football coach Duane Akina and Bill Duvall. The group finished with a combined score of 10-under.
