Horned Frogs Conclude Action at USA Championships

EUGENE, Ore. – The TCU track & field program ended the 2011 season at the 2011 U.S.A. Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Hayward Field Sunday.

Former Frog legend Khadevis Robinson highlighted the day for the Horned Frogs, rumbling around the oval for a time of 1:44.49 in the men’s 800 meters. That clocking was good enough for silver medal honors and a spot on the U.S. Team for the IAAF World Championships held in Daegu, Korea, Aug. 27-Sept. 4.

Senior sprinter Jessica Young turned in a time of 23.13 in the semifinals of the women’s 200 meters. The Columbia, S.C., native reached the semifinals heat after registering a personal-best clocking of 22.99 in Saturday’s preliminary round.

All-American Whitney Gipson landed one the longest legal jump of her career Sunday, leaping 21-9 ½ feet in the women’s long jump. The Newark, Texas, product earned sixth place overall out of 16 competitors.
