HP Byron Nelson Championship to host Tom Thumb Youth Clinic

Irving, Texas, May 12, 2010 – HP Byron Nelson Championship officials have announced that the Tom Thumb Youth Clinic will feature PGA TOUR players Colt Knost and Matt Weibring, two-time National Long Drive Champion Art Sellinger and 2009 RE/MAX World Long Drive Champion Jamie Sadlowski.

The youth clinic, presented by Tom Thumb and Lite FM, will take place Tuesday, May 18 at 5 p.m. on the TPC Four Seasons Practice Range, and it is free to the public. Sellinger and Sadlowski will provide swing tips and entertain with power shots through various objects. There will also be giveaways for those attending.

Sadlowski won the 2010 Texas Shootout with a 445 yard drive and has a swing speed that’s been measured at 150 mph.

“At 5’11” and 165 pounds, it’s hard to imagine that Jamie hits the ball farther than anyone on the planet. The kids are in for a real treat when they see Jamie hit the ball,” said Sellinger. This will be the 16th consecutive year Sellinger, a member of the Long Drivers of America Hall of Fame, has co-hosted the event.

All patrons who bring a new children’s book to the Tom Thumb Youth Clinic to donate to Operation Literacy, a TOUR Wives’ Association initiative, will receive a free ticket to the Championship on Wednesday, May 19.

The 2010 HP Byron Nelson Championship will be played May 17-23 at the TPC Four Seasons Resort Las Colinas in Irving.
