HP Byron Nelson Raises $5.15 Million For Charities

Irving, TX, August 25, 2011 –Salesmanship Club Charitable Golf of Dallas, host organization of the HP Byron Nelson Championship, announced today that the 2011 Championship raised $5.15 million for local children and families, bringing the total raised since the event’s inception to more than $121 million.

“The 2011 Championship was a rousing success,” said John Beckert, tournament chairman. “We’re providing services to more kids and families in our community than ever before, which wouldn’t be possible without the funds generated at this event. Our title sponsor, HP, continues to inspire us with their tremendous support of our greater cause.”

Funds generated from the Championship benefit Salesmanship Club Youth and Family Centers, a nonprofit organization that provides education and mental health services for at-risk children and their families in the greater Dallas area. SCYFC services were extended to more than 8,000 people in 2010. The Salesmanship Club provides the majority of SCYFC’s operating budget, primarily through the HP Byron Nelson Championship.

“We are deeply grateful to HP and the thousands of sponsors and volunteers whose support enables us to respond to the urgent needs of kids and families in our community,” said Phil Jones, Board Chairman of Salesmanship Club Youth and Family Centers.

The 2012 HP Byron Nelson Championship will be played May 14-20, at the TPC Four Seasons Resort Las Colinas in Irving. For more details, visit hpbnc.org.
