Ryan Briscoe has a pattern at Texas Motor Speedway. Two years ago, Briscoe started 3rd and finished 3rd. Last year he started 2nd and finished 2nd. This year, Briscoe started on the pole and won the IZOD IndyCar Series Firestone 550k. It is Briscoe's 1st win of the season and 6th overall. He has finished 1st or 2nd in 12 of the last 24 IZOD IndyCar Series races.
Team Penske has now won 6 IZOD IndyCar events at Texas Motor Speedway.
Danica Patrick finished a season-best 2nd place, her first top-5 of the season. "I've been working hard all season", said Patrick. "It's just really nice to have a result to show how hard I've been working and how hard the team has been working as well."

Ricky Carmichael, former motocross rider turned NASCAR driver, is looking forward to racing at Texas Motor Speedway in the WinStar World Casino 400k on June 4.
Carmichael was so successful at motocross that his nickname is GOAT (Greatest Of All Time). His 150 victories and 15 AMA championships may never be matched. He has always been a fan favorite, winning AMA's Rider of the Year multiple times and Most Popular Driver twice in his short NASCAR career. He is very appreciative of his fans, and tries to keep them happy. "I just always gave it my all, I give 100% and try to give the fans something to see."
Moving to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 2009, Carmichael scored two top-10 finishes in 18 races. In 2010, in just 7 races so far, he has a top-5 and three top-10 finishes and is currently 7th in points. Despite the early struggles, Carmichael feels good about the direction he is going, "I'm realistic with my goals, I feel good about my team and where we are heading. We want to be top-10 every race."

FORT WORTH, Texas—Todd Bodine added to his resume as the Camping World Truck Series' winningest driver at Texas Motor Speedway on Friday night with an overtime victory in the WinStar World Casino 400k.
Bodine drove away from four-time and reigning series champion Ron Hornaday Jr. and Timothy Peters on a green-white-checkered flag restart to notch his sixth career victory on TMS' 1.5-mile oval, and third in the summer event here. Bodine snapped a 24-race winless streak dating to June 5, 2009.

NASCAR gave me the opportunity to ride a few laps in the pace car today before the Samsung Mobile 500 at Texas Motor Speedway. NASCAR's Brett Bodine was at the wheel of the Camero. I got to do something the real NASCAR drivers don't - see the track through windshield wipers. It has rained most of the past two days here at TMS, forcing the Nationwide Series race to be postponed and worrying everyone that the same may happen to the Sprint Cup Series race today.
