Jamie Hampton wins Grapevine $50K Tennis Classic

Twenty year old Jamie Hampton of Auburn, AL, won the Grapevine $50,000 Women’s Tennis Classic held at the Hilton DFW Lakes.  Hampton was a straight-set winner over No. 3 seed Kurumi Nara.  Hampton overpowered the No. 1 seed Varvara Lepchenko in the semifinals, also in straight sets.  It is her 2nd USTA Pro Circuit singles title.

The No 1 seeded doubles team of Lindsay Lee-Walters and Megan Moulton-Levy defeated the 2nd seeded team of Kimberly Couts and Tetiana Luzhanska to take the title.

It is the 2nd year for the Grapevine Women’s $50,000 Tennis Classic.  This is one of four $50,000 summer hard court tournaments to prepare players for the US Open. 

Another $50,000 event is scheduled for November.
