Kinsler disciplined by MLB

Ian Kinsler of the Texas Rangers has received a one-game suspension and an undisclosed fine for his actions during and immediately following his Club’s Friday, September 10 game against the New York Yankees at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. Kinsler, who was ejected in the bottom of the 10th inning for making inappropriate comments to Umpire Dale Scott, violated Official Baseball Rule 4.07 by returning to the field while Nelson Cruz was rounding the bases after hitting a game-winning home run in the bottom of the 13th inning. Bob Watson, Vice President of On-Field Operations for Major League Baseball, made the announcement.

Unless appealed, Kinsler is scheduled to begin serving his suspension tonight, when the Rangers host the Detroit Tigers. If appealed, Kinsler’s suspension will be held in abeyance until the process is complete.
