Legends Beat Windy City

FRISCO, TX  –Kyle Collinsworth posted a triple-double for the Texas Legends (21-12) Friday night to lead a 111-102 win over the Windy City Bulls (13-19).  

The two teams stayed close in the first with the largest lead coming from Texas (+4).  Windy City tied it up two more times in the second, but Texas took a 13-4 run to close out the half and pull out of the visitors’ reach.  

With the Legends up 12 to start the third, Windy City blew through six unanswered points and later found themselves within one point with just over four minutes in the third. The lead stayed in the single digits until early in the fourth when Xavier Johnson opened the door for Texas’ largest lead of the game.  Johnson went 4-for-4 for 10 fourth quarter points along with 3 rebounds and an assist as Texas rolled through the final 12 minutes to maintain their spot atop the Western Conference. 




Donald Sloan led the home team’s scoring with 26 points, joined by five other Legends in double-digits.  Collinsworth finished with 10 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists, and 3 steals while JJ Avila added 8 points, 8 rebounds in 16 minutes off the bench.  Jameel Warney filled the stat line with 17 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals, and a block and Johnson (12 points, 5 rebounds), Jalen Jones (18 points, 7 rebounds), and Brandon Ashley (16 points, 6 rebounds) rounded off the double-digits.

Mychal Mulder posted 18 points to lead Windy City while Ryan Arcidiacono had 15 points, 13 assists.  Jaylen Johnson added 8 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists and Daniel Ochefu finished with 15 points, 7 rebounds, and a game-high 3 blocks.
