Legends Defeat Delaware

FRISCO, Texas — The Texas Legends held off the Delaware 87ers for a 108-101 victory in front of their home crowd.

The Legends took off to a rolling start behind 10 first quarter points from Eric Griffin. The team grabbed 14 rebounds and dished out 7 assists while holding Delaware to 10 total points. The lead grew to 26 in the second for the largest gap of the night, and despite outscoring the Legends 31-29, the lead stayed steady at 22. The 87ers continued to pull away in the second half 60-45, but Renaldo Balkman’s 15 points and 13 rebounds sealed the win for the home team.

Balkman came off the bench to lead the Legends with 19 points, 16 rebounds. Justin Jackson added the team’s other double-double of 11 points, 10 rebounds and Damion James grabbed 17 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals.

D.J. Seeley had a game-high 20 points to lead Delaware. Victor Rudd followed closely with 15 points and a team-high 9 rebounds.
