Legends Fall To Kings

FRISCO, TX, – The Texas Legends (2-3) rallied in the fourth quarter but were unable to secure the win against the Stockton Kings (3-3) Wednesday night in Frisco.  Despite Codi Miller-McIntyre nearing another triple-double, the Legends fell 100-106 in the first matchup against the newly renamed Kings.

Texas was the first on the scoreboard and used an 11-point first quarter from Rashad Vaughn to take a 20-10 lead at the break.  The home team was holding the lead midway through the second until a 22-8 run by the Kings put the visitors up with four minutes to play in the half.  Stockton maintained that lead and found themselves up by 18 in the fourth quarter.  Texas went on a 16-4 run to get within five with just under two minutes on the clock but were unable to seal the gap.

Vaughn finished the night with 22 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists to lead the Legends while Miller-McIntyre added 21 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 assists.  Jameel Warney came off the bench to add 14 points, 3 assists, and 4 steals, and Ray Spalding rounded out the double-digit scoring with 11 points, 7 rebounds, and a game-high 5 blocks.

Cody Demps led the Kings’ scoring efforts with 21 points, 6 rebounds while Cameron Reynolds and Kalin Lucas added 20 points apiece off the bench.  Wenyen Gabriel grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds and Matt Jones added 10 to lead the Kings to a 52-43 advantage on the boards.

Texas returns to the court Friday night to host the Oklahoma City Blue at 7:30pm CT.  The Blue took the last matchup in Oklahoma City to take the lead in the season series 1-0.  For tickets or information call 214-469-0822 or visit www.TexLegends.com.
