Maria Sharapova wins Memphis

Maria Sharapova lived up to her top billing as she won the Cellular South Cup at The Racquet Club of Memphis.  Sharapova dominated the final match against qualifier Sofia Arvidsson.  Sharapova was never broken on serve in the 6-2, 6-1 win.  She did not lose a set the entire tournament.

For the men at the Regions Morgan Keegan Championship, it was a good day for American Davis Cup teammates.  No. 6 John Isner advanced to the final with a 3-set win over Philipp Petzschner.  His opponent will be No. 8 Sam Querrey, who defeated Ernests Gulbis.  Isner and Querrey will also play as teammates in the men’s doubles final.
