Mavericks aren’t dead yet

The Dallas Mavericks survived the first of 3 elimination chances against the San Antonio Spurs.  Trailing 3-1 in the series, the Mavericks pulled off a rout at home, winning 103-81 in a game that was never in doubt.

Caron Butler scored 35 points and added 11 rebounds to lead the Mavs. “Extremely aggressive,” said Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle. “He really is one of our tough guys. A lot of the times he went up in the crowd and pulled down rebounds. Offensively, he had a great rhythm going and he was extremely aggressive and made good decisions.”

Dirk Nowitzki scored 15 points with 9 rebounds, Jason Terry added 12 more.  As a team, Dallas shot 44% from the field.

The series returns to San Antonio for game 6.
