Mavs beat Celtics

The Dallas Mavericks defeated the Boston Celtics 101-97 to get their 7th straight victory.

Dallas was behind in the final minutes, but went on a 10-0 run in the final 2 minutes for the win, capped by a 3-pointer from Jason Kidd to take the lead.  Kidd finished the game with 10 points and 9 assists.

Mavs forward Dirk Nowitzki led all scorers with 29 points.  Six Mavericks scored in double figures.  Tyson Chandler got a double-double, scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds.

J.J. Barea got his first start of the year at shooting guard. The former Northeastern star responded with hot shooting from the outside, going 2-for-3 from downtown on his way to 11 points on the evening. He has hit five of his last seven shots from beyond the arc.

Dallas plays next at Charlotte.
