Mavs beat Suns 91-83

The Dallas Mavericks defeated the Phoenix Suns 91-83 on Sunday night.  With the win, the Mavericks improved their NBA-best road record to 26-10 (.772).

Tyson Chandler led the Mavericks with 16 points and 18 boards. Also scoring 16 were Jason Kidd and reserve Jason Terry.  Dirk Nowitzki scored just 15 points on 6 for 19 shooting.

The game was tight until the final 1:11 when Jason Kidd hit the first of two 3-pointers to seal the game for Dallas.  “The first one I had no choice, the shot clock was about to go off. The second one, I was shooting it all the way if Dirk was going to give it to me…That’s what he’s been doing all season, trusting his teammates”, said Kidd.

The Mavericks pull to within one game of the Los Angeles Lakers for the No. 2 spot in the NBA West.

The Mavericks continue their road trip Wednesday at Los Angeles Clippers.
