Mavs Lose To Golden State

DALLAS — Make it 15 wins in a row for the Golden State Warriors after they ripped through the Dallas Mavericks 105-98 Saturday.

Point guard Stephen Curry led the way with 29 points and guard Klay Thompson added 25 for the Warriors, who became the 12th NBA team to open a season 20-2.

If anybody thought the Mavericks were ready to challenge the NBA’s hottest team, the Warriors put that notion to rest almost from the opening tip.

The Warriors’ offense raced by for easy baskets and the defense — even with center Andrew Bogut out because of a knee injury — took away almost everything the Mavericks hoped to do.

Warriors forward Draymond Green had 20 points, eight rebounds and two blocked shots, and forward Harrison Barnes added 12 points, nine rebounds, three assists, a steal and a blocked shot.

Mavericks guard Monta Ellis had 24 points, five assists and three steals. Forward Dirk Nowitzki added 23 points and eight rebounds.
