Mavs lose to Pistons

The Dallas Mavericks continued their losing streak with a 103-89 loss to the Detroit Pistons.  It is the 6th consecutive loss for the Mavs, their longest losing streak since 2000.  Dallas head coach Rick Carlisle explains the loss, “Our competitive level has got to come up. It’s as simple as that.”

Dirk Nowitzki was back in the lineup, scoring 32 points for Dallas, but was not enough to lift the Mavs.  Jason Kidd added 13 assists, but was 0 for 7 shooting from the 3-point range.  Jason Terry was the only other Dallas player in double-digits, with 18.

Dallas center Tyson Chandler missed his second straight game due to illness.

The Mavericks gave up 62 points in the 2nd half to the Pistons, who have won 3 in a row.

Dallas returns home to host the Lakers on Wednesday.
