Mavs sweep Rockets

The Dallas Mavericks ended a 3-game road losing streak with a 98-91 victory over the Houston Rockets Monday night.  In the process, the Mavericks moved past the Los Angeles Lakers into 2nd place in the NBA West.  Dallas swept the season series with the Rockets for the first time in 3 years.

Dirk Nowitzki got a double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds.  Shawn Marion kept up his hot streak with 21 points for the Mavs.  Jason Terry also scored 21 for the Mavs.  Tyson Chandler grabbed 12 rebounds.

The bad news for the Mavericks is that they gave up 20 turnovers, were cold from 3-point range (4 for 17), and were out-rebounded 52-49 in the overtime win.

Dallas will close out the regular season at home on Wednesday.  The Mavs need to win the finale and the Lakers need to lose one of their final 2 games in order for Dallas to remain the 2nd seed in the Western Conference.
