Mavs Take Lead In NBA Finals

The Dallas Mavericks are one game away from the NBA Championship.  The bad news is they will have to win on the road to get it.  Dallas defeated the Miami Heat 112-103 Thursday night at the American Airlines Center to take a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven series.

Dirk Nowitzki scored 29 points for Dallas, including the go-ahead dunk with 2 minutes and 45 seconds left in the game.  The Mavericks wouldn’t let that lead go away, going on a 10-3 run from that point.

The Miami trio of LeBron James, Chris Bosh, and Dwyane Wade accounted for 59 points.  James had a triple-double with 17 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists.

The Mavericks had 5 players in double-figures.  Jason Terry came off the bench to score 21.  J.J. Barea made 14 of his 17 points in the 2nd half.  Jason Kidd and Tyson Chandler each scored 13 for the Mavs.

Dallas will try to close out the series Sunday night in Miami.
