The Dallas Mavericks moved a step closer to the playoffs with a 112-103 victory over Golden State Thursday night.  The win puts the Mavs in 6th place in the Western Conference and closing in on 5th-place Memphis.  Dallas head coach Rick Carlisle knows the playoff momentum is critical, “We’ve been talking about playoff mode for two-and-a-half weeks. It’s a must. The pressure that comes with that is a good thing, because it’s the kind of pressure that you like. It brings you to a higher level and we embrace it. We embraced it last year in the playoffs and it got us a ring.”

Dirk Nowitzki led the Mavericks scoring with 27 points.  Four other Mavericks, all from the bench, scored in double figures. Jason Terry and Brandan Wright each scored 16, Vince Carter scored 12, and Rodrigue Beaubois added 11.

Jason Kidd led all players with 12 assists, and nearly had a triple-double, with 10 rebounds and 9 points.  Shawn Marion led the game with 12 rebounds.

The Mavericks travel up the coast to Portland for tonights game with the Blazers.
