Mavs win over King James and the Heat

Dallas, TX  – The Dallas Mavericks won their 4th game in 5 days, by defeating the Miami Heat 106-95 Saturday night at the American Airlines Center.

The Mavericks were down by 7 midway through the 2nd period, but went on a 13-2 run and ended the half with a 51-49 advantage.  Dallas poured it on in the 3rd quarter, outscoring Miami 31-17 and building a lead as large as 18 points.  Caron Butler, who had just 4 points for the Mavs in the first half, dominated the 2nd half.  Butler finished with a team-high 23 points and added 3 rebounds and a steal.  Miami’s Lebron James also scored 23 points but added 5 turnovers.

Dallas superstar Dirk Nowitzki scored 22 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals on the night.

Dallas extended their record longest running NBA sellout streak to 367 consecutive regular season games.  The Mavericks have sold out all 41 games for each of the past 7 seasons.

Dallas next plays against Houston on Monday night.
