Mazara Wins A.L. Rookie of the Month

Mazara becomes the first Texas rookie ever to win the award twice and is the first player to take honors in consecutive months since 2014. He batted .283 (30-106) with 7 home runs and 17 RBI over 27 games in May, leading all major league rookies in RBI and home runs. Mazara has 52 hits this season, the second-highest total of any Texas batter over his first 45 career games.

Since the start of 2013, the Rangers have had rookies win the monthly award 5 times, most of any major league club in that span.
