Moreland Lifts Rangers Past Royals

Mitch Moreland hit a 3-run homer run in the 7th inning to give the Texas Rangers a 5-1 lead over the Kansas City Royals.  The cushion was enough to allow Texas to hold on for a 5-1 win, their 3rd in a row.

Matt Harrison started on the mound for the Rangers and recorded his 13th win.  Harrison gave up just 2 runs in 6 2/3 innings.  He struck out 3.  Alexi Ogando earned the save, striking out 2 and allowing no runs in his inning.

The Rangers lead the lead in batting, with a .278 average.

Texas and the Royals will square off again tonight in Kansas City.  Scott Feldman will be on the mound for the Rangers.  The Rangers are holding on to a 4.5 game lead over Oakland in the AL West.
