Murray Advances To Australian Showdown With Djokovic

Andy Murray (5) outlasted David Ferrer (7) to advance to his 2nd consectutive Australian Open final.  Murray rallied after losing the opening set to take the match in a 4th set tiebreak.  Despite making 63 unforced errors to Ferrers 34, Murray also hit 60 winners to take the match.  Murray came through in the big points, saving 72% of break points and completely dominating the two tiebreakers.

The No. 1 team of Gisela Dulko and Flavia Pennetta won the Women’s Doubles Title over Victoria Azarenka and Maria Kirilenko.  It appeared that Azarenka and Kirilenko would breeze to the title, easily winning the opening set 6-2 and jumping to a 4-1 lead in the 2nd.   Then the wheels fell off.  Azarenka and Kirilenko started making errors while Dulko and Pennetta began to play more aggressive with a nothing-to-lose attitude.  Dulko and Pennetta took the second set 7-5 and then rode the momentum to a 6-1 final set victory.

It is the first Grand Slam title for the pair, who won 7 titles in 2010.
