Rafael Nadal won in straight sets and improved to 14-0 overall against Thomaz Bellucci in the first round of the 2015 Wimbledon Championship at the All-England Club on Tuesday.

Nadal, who has won 14 Grand Slam events and twice at Wimbledon, entered Wimbledon as the No. 10 seed on the men’s side and matches up with Germany’s Dustin Brown in the second round.

“I played a solid match,” Nadal said after a 6-4, 6-2, 6-4 win.

Andy Murray, who won the men’s title in 2013, and Roger Federer also advanced, though Great Britain’s Murray broke a sweat getting the second round.

Federer steamrolled the 88th-ranked Bosnian Damir Dzumhur, 6-1, 6-3, 6-3 with scintillating shot-making all over the court. The seven-time Wimbledon winner and world No. 2 won the opening set in 17 minutes. He’s aiming to add to his record of 17 Grand Slam titles with power-serving American Sam Querrey up next.

Murray, the No. 3 seed, notched a 6-4 7-6 (7/3) 6-4 win against Kazakhstan’s Mikhail Kukushkin.

–Eugenie Bouchard, the runner-up at age 20 at Wimbledon last year, is going home after losing in the first round Tuesday. The world’s 117th-ranked player, Duan Ying-Ying, a qualifier from China, won 7-6 (3), 7-4.

Bouchard, who was only 8-13 since January and reached the quarterfinals in just one event this year, wasn’t the only up-and-comer to fall Tuesday.

Simona Halep lost 5-7, 6-4, 6-3 to 106th-ranked Jana Cepelova of Slovakia.

Women’s defending champion Petra Kvitova needed just 35 minutes for her a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Kiki Bertens of Holland.

Halep was the first top-three women’s seed to not reach the second round since 2001.
