DENTON, Texas -The 67th nationally-ranked North Texas tennis team was stunned by the UTA Mavericks, who took the match 4-0 Wednesday afternoon at the Waranch Tennis Complex.

“You have to give UTA credit, they played a great match,” said associate head coach Jeff Hammond. “We will regroup and be ready for another battle on Saturday.”

In doubles play, the Mean Green could not keep up with the Mavericks who took the doubles point with wins at the No.2 and No.3 spot. Their momentum continued into singles play, where North Texas was handed their second loss, in a row, at home, and leaving their season record to 9-9.

On Saturday, April 5, the Mean Green will take on the UTSA Roadrunners at 11 a.m., in their second to last home match of the season.
