Ogando Gets First Loss of Season

Texas Rangers pitcher Alexi Ogando knew he would not be undefeated all year, he did not know his streak would come to an end in the 2nd inning against the Yankees.  New York blasted 6 runs in the 2nd inning before Ogando left the game after throwing just 53 pitches.  He drops to 7-1 on the season.

Ogando had pitched at least 6 innings in his prior 12 starts. “I was not making my pitches and locating. They hit me hard. That’s pretty much it … just a bad day.”, said Ogando.

The Yankees continued to pound the Rangers pitching staff in the 12-4 win over Texas.

Michael Young went got 2 RBIs for the Rangers as he set a team record with 1,574 games played, passing Rafael Palmero.

Yorvit Torrealba led the Rangers at the plate, going 2-for-3.

Texas has lost 6 of their last 8 games.

The Rangers will try to get back on track tonight at Yankee Stadium.
