Rangers announce pre-game ceremonies

The Texas Rangers announced details for the pre-game ceremonies prior to Games 3 and 4 of the 2010 World Series on Saturday and Sunday at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. Both games are complete sellouts.

For Game 3, current Rangers President and all-time major league strikeout leader Nolan Ryan will throw out the ceremonial first pitch to former Rangers catcher and 13-time Gold Glove recipient Ivan Rodriguez. Grammy Award-winner Kelly Clarkson will perform the National Anthem before the 5:57 p.m. CDT start, the earliest start time for a World Series game in more than 20 years.

God Bless America will be performed during the seventh inning stretch by actress/singer Martha Plimpton, who has appeared in more than 30 films and recently received her third Tony nomination.

On Saturday, the colors will be presented by the City of Arlington Police and Fire Department Color Guards. A flyover of four F-16’s from the 301st Fighter Squadron of the Fort Worth Naval Air Station follows the National Anthem. Rangers Hall of Famer Rusty Greer will accompany Jamara Hogan of the Boys and Girls Club of Arlington and the B&G Clubs National Youth of the Year, to deliver the first game ball to the mound. Fans will receive Taco Bell Lanyards and Ticket Holders and Taco Bell White Rally Towels.

Sunday’s Game 4 will start at 7:20 p.m. CDT. The 43rd President of the United States, George W. Bush will perform the first pitch ceremonies. President Bush, who was the Rangers Managing General Partner from 1989-94 and a member of the team’s ownership group from 1989-98, will be accompanied by his father, the 41st President of the United States, George H.W. Bush. Nolan Ryan will catch the first pitch.

Four time Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter and Texas icon Lyle Lovett will sing the National Anthem. United States combat veterans 4 Troops will perform God Bless America.

Wearing the historic uniforms of the U.S. Cavalry, the 1st Cavalry Division Honor Guard from Fort Hood and the 301st Air Force Honor Guard from Ft. Worth will present the Colors of the United States of America on Sunday. Rangers Hall of Famer Tom Grieve will accompany Don Mitchell of the Boys and Girls Club of Dallas to deliver the first game ball to the mound. Fans will receive State Farm Lapel Pins and White Rally Towels.

The Rangers Ballpark in Arlington parking lots will open six hours before the start of Games 3 and 4 with the Ballpark gates opening three hours prior to first pitch. In addition to the Rangers normal parking lots, the Cowboys Stadium Lots 4 and 13 parking lots, located at the corner of Randol Mill Road and Legends Way, will be open for cash parking on Saturday. All cash parking for World Series games is priced at $20.00.
