Texas Rangers starting pitcher Scott Feldman had another bad outing as the Arizona Diamondbacks avoiding being swept at Rangers Ballpark with an 11-3 drubbing of the home team.

Feldman gave up 6 runs in 5 innings as he dropped to 0-6 on the year with an ERA of 7.36.  “I still have confidence in him,” said Rangers manager Ron Washington. “I don’t lose confidence in my players. We made some mistakes behind him, but just because we make mistakes doesn’t mean you let the flood gates open. Sometimes you have to pick each other up. We just didn’t get it done tonight.”

The Rangers opened the scoring in the first inning when Elvis Andrus reached on a double and scored on an Adrian Beltre single.  Andrus would reach base again in the 3rd on a single, but was left stranded.

The Texas offense was shut down until the 7th inning, when Beltre doubled and scored on a David Murphy home run.  It was Murphy’s 7th homer of the year.

The Rangers fall to just 3 games ahead of the Angels in the AL West.  They will open a series against Houston tonight in Arlington with Yu Darvish on the mound against Jordan Lyles.  First pitch is at 7:05pm.
