The Texas Rangers opened the home series with Cleveland with a 6-4 win Tuesday night at the Ballpark.

Rangers starting pitcher Matt Harrison came off 6 days rest to go 5 2/3 innings and strike out 6 for the win.   Reliever Joe Nathan earned his 30th consecutive save, 32nd overall for the season.

The Rangers got 4 runs in the 2nd inning.  The first when Michael Young singled to bring in Adrian Beltre, who reached base on an Indian error.  Young scored on a wild pitch by Ubaldo Jimenez after a Mitch Moreland double.  Moreland scored on a sacrifice fly by Leonys Martin.  Finally, Ian Kinsler batted in Geovany Soto, who had reached on a walk.

Texas scored again in the 5th inning on a home run by Adrian Beltre that hit the top of the left center field wall.  It was Beltre’s 31st home run of the year.

The final Rangers run came in the 6th inning when Leonys Martin reached on a double and scored on an Elvis Andrus line drive single to center field.

Texas remains just 3 games ahead of the Angels in the AL West.  The Rangers host the Rays again tonight at 7:05pm with Ryan Dempster taking the mound for Texas.
