Rangers blasted by Angels

The Texas Rangers were embarrassed at home by the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday night.  The Angels broke loose for a 15-4 rout to tie the Rangers for the lead in the AL West.

Rangers starting pitcher Colby Lewis gave up 5 runs in just 5 innings, but he was the best that Texas had on the mound all night.  Lewis pitched two scoreless innings, no other Rangers pitcher could get even one.  The Rangers bullpen combined to give up 11 runs in 4 innings.

Texas fielders were no better, making 4 errors in the game.  They had just 2 all season coming into the game.

The Ranger offense played well, gathering 9 hits on the night, including a home run by Yorvit Torrealba.  Michael Young extended his hitting streak to 10 games with a single in the 8th inning.

The deciding game in the series is Wednesday at 7:05pm when Matt Harrison returns to the mound for the Rangers.
