Rangers blow lead against White Sox

The Texas Rangers jumped out to a 3-0 lead by the fourth inning in Chicago against the White Sox.  It was not enough, however, for the much maligned Texas pitching staff as the Rangers fall 4-3.

Matt Harrison went 7 innings for the Rangers, striking out 6, but giving up a 3-run homer in the 5th inning which tied the game.  Cody Eppley came on in the 8th and walked 2 batters and gave up a hit while getting only 1 out.  Eppley threw a wild pitch in the dirt which brought in the game-winning run for Chicago.

Texas was silent at the plate, only getting 5 hits.  Endy Chavez (2), Elvis Andrus (1), and Michael Young (1) were the only Rangers with hits.  Young’s single in the 8th inning extended his road hitting streak to 17 games, the longest in the Majors.

Texas split the series in Chicago and will travel to Kansas City to start a series with the Royals on Wednesday.
