Rangers defeat Royals 8-7
The Texas Rangers open their series at Kansas City with an 8-7 victory.
Designated hitter Vladimir Guerrero hit 2 home runs and a double to tie his season high RBI count of 5. Josh Hamilton and Nelson Cruz also hit solo home runs.
Rangers starting pitcher Rich Harden went 6 innings, giving up only 4 runs before he ran out of steam in the 6th, giving up 3 more. Darren O’Day came on to get the win, with help from Darren Oliver, Cris Ray and Neftali Feliz.
With the win, Texas ended it’s 2-game losing streak and extended their AL West lead to 3 games over Oakland.
