The Texas Rangers scored early and often in the final game of the home series with Oakland today at the Ballpark in Arlington.  The Rangers tallied 5 runs in the first inning and scored in each of the next 3 innings for a 9-7 win.

Starting pitcher Matt Harrison went 6 innings, giving up just 4 runs.  Alexi Ogando came on in relief for a scoreless inning before Mike Adams gave up 3 solo home runs in the 8th inning.  Koji Uehara had to finish the inning before turning the game over to Joe Nathan for his 36th save.

Ian Kinsler got the Rangers going offensively with a lead-off home run in the first inning.  Michael Young would follow with a 2-run single to left field.  Mike Napoili’s home run would finish the scoring for Texas in the opening frame.

The Rangers hold a 4-game lead over the A’s with 6 to play.  They open a series with the third-place Angels on Friday night before finishing the season at Oakland.  Ryan Dempster will be on the mound for the Rangers against the Angel’s ace Jered Weaver.
