Rangers Fall In 10 To Rays

Ian Kinsler did all he could to help the Texas Rangers close out the series against the Tampa Bay Rays today.  Kinsler hit 2 home runs in the game, the second one to tie the game in the 9th inning.  It wasn’t enough as the Rays’ Desmond Jenkins hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 10th.

Texas starting pitcher Derek Holland went 6 2/3 innings, giving up 4 runs and striking out 9 in the no-decision.  Koji Uehara, Mike Adams, and Darren Oliver combined to hold the Rays scoreless for the next 3 1/3 innings.  Unfortunately, Mark Lowe gave up a home run to the lead-off batter in the bottom of the 10th inning for the loss.

Mike Napoli went 4-for-5 at the plate, adding a home run in the 8th.  Adrian Beltre kept his hitting streak alive with 2 singles in the game.

Texas returns to Arlington to open a home series against Oakland on Friday.
