Rangers finally lose, split doubleheader with Orioles

The Texas Rangers lost their first game of the season to the Baltimore Orioles, but didn’t stay down long as they trounced the O’s in the nightcap of a doubleheader.

The Rangers lost the first game 5-0, ending their win streak at 6.  It is the most consecutive wins to start the season for the Rangers since 1979.  Rangers starting pitcher Colby Lewis gave up the 5 runs in the first 3 innings.  Meanwhile, the Rangers batters could not even get a hit until the 5th inning.

Texas bounced back in the nightcap, pounding out 13 hits for 13 runs.  The Rangers got six runs in the third inning to give starting pitcher Matt Harrison all the cushion he would need to earn his 2nd win of the season.  Harrison would give up only 2 hits in 7 innings.

Adrian Beltre, Mike Napoili, and Nelson Cruz all homered for the Rangers.

The deciding game of the series is today at 12:35 CT.
